dc.description.abstract This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the principles and practices of maintenance and reliability engineering, tailored for undergraduate students in automation and industrial systems. It covers foundational concepts such as maintenance types (corrective, preventive, predictive, proactive), failure mechanisms and modes, and diagnostic methodologies. Emphasis is placed on modern strategies for optimizing equipment reliability and minimizing downtime, including quantitative analysis techniques (e.g., ABC analysis, decision trees, criticality matrices), and the application of international standards (ISO, IEC, NF EN). Through theoretical instruction and applied exercises, students are equipped with practical tools to develop, evaluate, and implement effective maintenance plans that enhance system performance, safety, and cost- efficiency. The course also explores the integration of emerging technologies such as IoT and AI in predictive maintenance. en_US
