dc.description.abstract Information security has quickly become a major priority in the world digital due to our increasing reliance on interconnected systems and sharing data via networks for virtually all activities. Identity verification and access control are fundamental to the protection of our digital assets; thus, this research presents a proof of concept aimed at developing an innovative solution combining biometric technologies and blockchain to strengthen data confidentiality and authenticate the identity to handle reliably. The system exploits biometric features extracted from finger joint images using modern image processing techniques, such as HOG, combined with advanced encryption methods to protect the biometric template. Our solution also integrates blockchain technology to ensure data integrity and offer a reliable and decentralized authentication mechanism. The high recognition rate and system efficiency demonstrate the validity of this proof of concept, which could address current security challenges. en_US
