dc.description.abstract This thesis explores the design, simulation, and practical implementation of a DC-DC Buck converter controlled by a PID algorithm. The main objective is to achieve a stable output voltage, fast settling time, low overshoot, and high power conversion efficiency. The project began with the development of a theoretical model of the converter, followed by simulation to assess initial performance. It then progressed to practical implementation and fine-tuning of the system for more precise control. Throughout the process, several real-world challenges were encountered, including discrepancies between theoretical and practical behavior, parasitic elements, electromagnetic interference (EMI), and limitations in the resolution of the analog-to-digital converter (ADC). Some of these obstacles were overcome by adjusting experimental values, refining the circuit design, and improving measurement strategies to enhance overall performance. The final system successfully met the desired objectives, confirming the effectiveness and feasibility of using PID control in power converter applications. Future students can build upon this thesis by implementing advanced control strategies such as adaptive PID or Fuzzy logic to improve system responsiveness and stability. They are also encouraged to explore hardware enhancements aimed at increasing measurement precision and reducing susceptibility to electrical noise, thereby improving the overall reliability and robustness of the system. This work highlights the importance of integrating theoretical analysis, simulation, and hands-on experimentation in the design of power electronics systems. en_US
