يعد جون راولزابرز فيلسوف امريكي في مجال ابحاث العدالة لقد جاءت نظريته تنظيرا للعدالة الاجتماعية ومرجعية لتوزيع الموارد بين افراد المجتمع مشددا على اهمية حماية حقوق الانسان وتحقيق المساواة من خلال اجابته على الاشكال المتعلق بالمبادئ المستخدمة من قبل المجتمع لبناء العدالة جاعلا من العدالة ذات منحى اخلاقي ومنحى سياسي، ووفقا لرؤية راولز فان العدالة الاجتماعية تسمح بتوزيع المنافع على طبقات متعددة، فهناك منافع اجتماعية يجب ان توزع بالتساوي منها الحقوق الاساسية للإنسان كحرية التعبير، المساواة امام القانون ونحوها وثمة منافع ينبغي توزيعها تبعا لحاجة الافراد كالسكن والرعاية الصحية، اي لمن لديهم قصور في الوصول اليها والغرض من هذا هو ضمان حد ادنى من لوازم العيش للمواطنين كافة دون اهمال المنافع التي يمكن توزيعها بشكل متفاوت مع شرط ان تتاح لكل الافراد فرص متساوية للحصول عليها على نحو اكبر ومبرر هذا التمايز هو مبدأ الاستحقاق وكذا توسيع انتاج السلع والخدمات ذات الطابع الايجابي على المجتمع.

According to rawlss vision social justice allows for the distribution of benefitsacross multiple classes. Some social benefits must bedistributedequallyincluding basic humanrigtssuch as freedom of expression equalitybeforetgelaw and the like. Otherbenefits must bedistributedbased on individualneedssuch as housing and healthcarethatis to thosewholakeaccess to them. The purpose of thisis to guarantee a minimum standard of living for all citizenswithoutneglectingbenefitsthatcanbedistributedunequallyprovdedthat all individuals have equalaccess to them. This distinction isjustified by the principle of entitlement as well as by expanding the prodution of good and services that have a positive impact on society.
